RE: Another AC Issue

Well I have thought of this and after a trial run of this supposed fix I have found a 8500 BTU stand alone unit that requires no drain or drain pan that I may purchase

RE: Another AC Issue

Well here is the update on the AC issue and you guys are going to love it. Got the call it was ready on Friday the 27th, met with the service manager and here was his answer: TS has the controls for the heat and AC in a cabinet along with slide out controls and breakers and fuses. There is a sensor on the wall just past the bathroom door that acts as the thermostat. According to the service manager the bathroom was getting so cold and seeing there was no insulation in the wall that the sensor was on, the sensor was made to believe it was cold enough in the coach. I explained to him that could not be the case because if it was the case, the AC would have shut down as if it were at the desired temp, instead it was blowing warm air. I have told the service manager I was camping for 4 days starting on the 2nd of July not far from the dealership and that if it got warm in the coach I would be back to pick him and whom ever else up to come out and fix the problem. I further more stated if I lost any time due to this I would be expecting the dealership to reimburse me my camping expenses I have read several other threads about AC units not cooling and I have another story to add. I went camping Saturday and was planning on staying till Thursday. The temp in side the coach made it to 97 degrees which was 6 degrees hotter then it was outside. The site was in direct sunlight from sun up to sun down. At night the temp outside dropped and so did the temp inside, in fact one morning I had it down to 64 degrees inside. Needless to say I could take the heat and packed it in early. I have made an appointment with the dealer for the 19th of this month and really don't know what they will be able to do for me. One question I have is why would I have a 50amp service and only 1 AC unit? I have had 6 other campers from small class A's to 5ver's and they have been 30amps. My last 2 fifth wheels (1 32' the other 34') were also 30amp with 1 AC unit and they did fine with the heat, I would like to hear what your dealer says...would you mind PM'ing me the outcome or posting it here? I am having similar issues with my AC. At this point, we are being more selective on our camping spots to be in the shade. That seems to be the biggest factor regardless. I walked in a buddies 5er who is running a 13.5 mind you and his rig was 9 degrees cooler than ours yet he was in a heavily shaded site. We were in the direct sun from 9 am til 7 pm. Best we could do was 82 inside, albeit it was 96 outside.

RE: Another AC Issue

No one in the park other then me was having any AC issues. A friend of mine that left on Sunday was cold as ice, but he was just cooling a 26ft tt. I thought it might have been a freon issue except it cooled so well at night.

RE: Another AC Issue

I guess I should have added on my thread that I wonder why travel Supreme didn't add 2 units

RE: Cleaning my fifth wheel

I use Mean Green in a spray bottle on the bugs and black streaks, I try and do it before I go on every trip. I need to wax or put something on the front to help with bug removal. Is it necessary to hand wax the gel coat sides? If so I dread this job.

RE: Hitch bed rails

According to my dealer and the company I bought a CURT hitch from. Curt and Reese used the same rails, but this was not the case. One side of the hitch fit just fine, the other side rear was about 1/4" off and the other side front about a 1/2"

RE: RV Vacuums?

Dirt Devil came with mine, but if it looks real dirty I get the big vaccum from home for the beater brush.

RE: Power Awning Hits Door

There are 2 different types of arms. One for a steep pitch and the other a flat pitch. I just wonder if they have the steep pitch on it. Steep pitch requires 14.5 inches of clearance between the top of the door and the awning rail.

RE: Which do you prefer?

All alone. No one else wants to go until after I went and they find out I was gone.

Travel Supreme

For those of us with Travel Supreme trailers and wondering about warranty work. I just sent mine back to the dealer due to the kitchen slide not coming out all the way and they took care of it with no problems. I hope the rest of you have a dealer good enough to take care of their clients. I also sent an email to Jayco wondering about any parts that might be available through them for TS and got no response. I need a cam lock with a thumb turn for one of my basement doors.

RE: power awning are they good or not?

Can the automatic closer be disabled? I don't like the idea of having lights hanging and the awning start rolling up on me. I think from what I have read the pitch of the awning for my camper will be steep enough for rain to run off and not cause sagging.Ours has an on/off switch by the entry door to disable the retract feature. Thank you Texan..

RE: 5th wheel hook up

lawdog 905, Your friend might be able to raise the pin box high enough to get the minimum 6", but the idea is to keep the trailer level so you don't transfer the weight, keep the proper load on the hitch and keep equal load on the 4 tires. The tool boxes might have to go. Yeah I think he is pushing it myself. He has a 27ft TT, but he is thinking bigger now. I want him to go on and buy a diesel this way he would have more options on the size of 5er's.

RE: 5th wheel hook up

Along this same line of questioning, I have a friend who wants to buy a light weight fifth wheel to pull with his half ton. The problem is, he has 2 tool boxes 1 along each rail which rise maybe 6 to 8 inches above the rails. Can the pin box and or hitch itself be raised enough to accommodate for this or would it be to dangerous to raise them that high???
